The HBO Store has released a new line of fragrance and beauty products inspired by True Blood. The line is called Forsaken and includes perfumes, candles, and other items that tie into the hit television series. Some of our favorites include:
True Blood Forsaken eau de parfum in a dramatic bottle inspired by “vampire fashion.” 2 ruby red beads drop down the glass bottle to resemble blood dripping down the glass (among the fragrance notes are blood orange and dark blackberry)
True Blood DL&CO Candle and Diffuser Gift Set in the same Forsaken scent but perfect for gift giving
True Blood Deborah Lippman Forsaken Lip & Nail Set (pictured above). Includes nail color “Let It Bleed” and lip color “Bite Me”
In addition to the products, HBO is running a Halloween special right now where you can get Free fang bite tattoos on all True Blood orders over $45 when you use code TBGWP.
Have you tried the new Forsaken collection from HBO? Do you know anyone it would be perfect for?
If you just can’t get enough of Sookie Stackhouse, True Blood, Ben Temps, and all of the creatures that reside there, the new True Blood Cookbook is probably for you. Titled True Blood: Eats, Drinks, and Bites from Bon Temps, the book will feature 85 authentic bayou country recipes and 150-plus photos from the series. Plus, see the menus for Fangtasia and Merlotte’s Bar and Grill. The recipes are perfect for Halloween, True Blood watching parties, or gifts for True Blood fans.
What kinds of recipes can you expect to find? Here are some that we are most excited about:
I have to admit that I wasn’t incredibly excited about the latest installment in the Sookie Stackhouse Novels, Deadlocked, being released. I had read part of it free online, but I have been growing a little tired of the Sookie Stackhouse books as the series goes longer and continues to bring in more characters and different types of beings. I didn’t have high expectations for book 12. Let me go on record as saying that I was wrong.
This book took me back to the early Sookie Stackhouse novels where the story moved quickly and held my attention. I love that Charlaine Harris is starting to tie up loose ends. It’s nice to see resolutions coming together for some of the different plotlines (like the fae). I can also see the entire series moving to its conclusion, although I have absolutely no idea which way it is going to go! Bill was better in this book (he seemed really wimpy for me for quite a few books), and Eric was back to being cold and calculating. It’s almost as if he “played house” for about 8 books but is now going back to his true nature.
My one and only complaint about this book is that there was not enough sex! I wasn’t expecting it to be like 50 Shades of Grey, but I am accustomed to at least 1 or 2 hot scenes. Even one would have made me happy. But I completely understand that it didn’t fit into the plot, and that is more important. But please, Charlaine, can we maybe just have one “make up” sex scene in Book 13?? No matter who Sookie ends up with!
I’m so happy to see the series going strong again and I have a feeling that although it will be nice to have a wrapped up conclusion to everything in Book 13, I’ll miss Sookie and her gang of misfits.
If you just cannot wait until June 10 to get a peak at the next season of HBO’s True Blood, you are in luck! A brand new trailer is out for the new season and it definitely looks like a lot more of what we have come to expect of the show–drama, blood, action, and sex!
Here are just a few things that we picked up:
Sookie and Alcide might finally be getting together
Chris Meloni will be a new powerful vampire
Bill and Eric are working together
Debbie is gone
