The next Sookie Stackhouse Novel, Dead in the Family is available! If you take advantage of the free trial of Amazon Prime, you can get it shipped by 2-day shipping for FREE. Here’s a little blurb from Publishers Weekly (via Amazon) about it:
“Still reeling from the deaths of her fairy cousin, Claudine, and many others in 2009’s Dead and Gone, Sookie Stackhouse struggles with paranormal politics in her entertaining if slow-moving 10th outing. When Claudine’s triplet, Claude, appears at her doorstep, Sookie reluctantly allows him to move in. The government threatens two-natures with mandatory registration, and tensions run high in the local Were pack. Then Eric’s maker, a Roman named Appius Livius Ocella, arrives without warning, bringing along Alexei Romanov, whom he rescued from the Bolsheviks and turned into a vampire. Though the action often builds too slowly, the exploration of family in its many human and undead variations is intriguing, and Harris delivers her usual mix of eccentric characters and engaging subplots.”
This is interesting because it diverts from the True Blood series about who Eric’s maker really is. Will Sookie and Eric get even closer in this book, or will he manage to push her away as usual? Click here to see more on Amazon!
You can also get the Dead in the Family audiobook from Amazon for $23 or click here to see how you can get it for less than $8 from Audible.com.

For those of you anxiously awaiting the next Sookie Stackhouse novel coming May 2010, I have good news! You can get a sneak peek at chapter one of Dead in the Family by Charlaine Harris on her website.
The first chapter is really pretty much a recap of the last book with a little bit of the setup of the new book: Amelia is going back home, Claude is mourning his sister’s death, and Tara is five months pregnant. Sookie is in love with Eric but questioning their relationship for various reasons.
Although the sneak peek doesn’t give much away about the plotline, it does excite me to get a glimpse into what I am sure will be another page turner in the Sookie Stackhouse series!
